WHY PRAYER WALK /

Open your eyes. Open your hearts.

When we prayer walk we connect to God and with our surroundings. As we intentionally observe people, situations, and locations we can pray specifically about the needs we see. Prayer prepares the way for Gospel-ministry in our city.

Those who consistently prayer-walk in their community find their hearts become committed to the places for which they have prayed. A Spirit-tenderized heart, sensitized to a Spirit-directed need, results in Spirit-filled acts of compassion.

Simply pray what the Lord brings to your mind as you see people and surroundings. Ask God to bring about his Kingdom purposes in our city and seek his blessing, mercy, and transforming power for the area and the people you see. Pray for the hope of the Gospel to be a light in our city. Focus on lifting up Jesus and the power of the Spirit (John 12:32). "Pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest," (Luke 10:2).

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
